Vain Pursuit #1: Worldly Wisdom
Sermon Text: Ecclesiastes 1:12-18
Sermon Theme: What is really found in pursuing worldly wisdom?
- With worldly wisdom, nothing changes (vv. 13-15)
- Sorrow only increases with worldly wisdom (vv. 16-18)
- Worldly wisdom only leaves us with a longing for more.

- Are you looking to worldly wisdom to solve the problem of life? If so, where or how?
- Are you frustrated by the insoluble (vexation of spirit)? Are your ambitions for the unattainable (striving after wind)? If so, where or how?
- Solomon was the paradigmatic wise king in Israel. As such, he was wealthy and wise. If Solomon could not find happiness in his wisdom, then no one else can. Is it time to look to our heavenly King and His wisdom?
